Caring can touch any of us and it is likely that we all know people who are carers. Often people do not see themselves as carers they see themselves as "mother" or "son" or "wife" or "partner".

Carers often feel isolated in their caring role, they may be extremely tired and stressed because of the demands of the role and the lack of time off and often feel that they do not know who to turn to.

Worcestershire Association of Carers aims to help carers in the following ways:

• A quarterly magazine called Caring? (6,000 copies)
• A monthly news sheet (250 copies)
• A Carers’ Emergency Card is administered, providing peace of mind to carers at times of crisis
• Tailored Information Packs
• A telephone information line operated one afternoon a week.
• Carers are supported to make their views known about issues that effect their lives
• The telephone is answered during office hours and carers always receive an understanding and sympathetic response
• The Association works with other organisations and agencies to ensure that carers are involved in all aspects of service planning and development

All services provided by Worcestershire Association of Carers are free and the money provided by community way will help us to continue and to develop the services we currently offer.
