Worcestershire Association of Carers are seeking £5000 to continue providing their services to local carers
Worcestershire Association of Carers is run by and for carers. A carer is someone who is looking after a family member, friend or neighbour who is disabled, ill or frail. There are more than 50,000 carers in the whole of Worcestershire and in the region of 10,000 in the Worcester City area.
Caring can touch any of us and it is likely that we all know people who are carers. Often people do not see themselves as carers they see themselves as "mother" or "son" or "wife" or "partner".
Carers often feel isolated in their caring role, they may be extremely tired and stressed because of the demands of the role and the lack of time off and often feel that they do not know who to turn to.
Worcestershire Association of Carers aims to help carers in the following ways:
All services provided by Worcestershire Association of Carers are free and the money provided by community way will help us to continue and to develop the services we currently offer.
