How it works for Good Causes
On receiving your funding/account-opening form we will circulate details of your requests to business in the community. The businesses will choose the projects/charities they wish to make their donations to. These donations of community way pounds (cw£), not cash or goods are transferred to your community way account at the Worcester CCAS (Community Currency Accounting Services).
When you open an account you will be issued with a CC cheque book. You can spend the cw£ in your community way account to increase wages, reward volunteers, make purchases at any participating business or exchange some or all of your cw£ for cash.
From our office in the Hopmarket the public can choose the projects/charities they wish to support. Worcester CCAS will then exchange cw£ from your account directly with them for cash - pound for pound. The cw£ will be handed over in the form of cheque/vouchers (later smart cards), which can then be used in part payment at participating businesses. (see individual businesses for terms & conditions)
You may also wish to exchange cw£ directly with your supporters, if so we can provide you with the necessary materials. Cash exchanges to your project/charity will be forwarded to you on a monthly basis from Worcester CCAS and will continue until your community way account returns to zero.
To get the most from community way fund raising it is important that your supporters know of the program. When they give support the 'community way' they can give to the good cause of their choice and still have the spending power of their pound. ………..Everyone wins.
